MD of Oxfordshire Press Dave Gibson declares:

The END of Tipsters

And gives YOU the chance to trial a modern betting service that embodies the NEW ERA of sports betting that has just begun...

Dear Reader,

Dave Gibson here, MD of Oxfordshire Press.

And this is probably the most controversial letter I've ever had to write in my 21 years publishing sport betting information.

But it also gives me GREAT pleasure to do so...

You see, it recently came to my attention that our horse racing analyst Nick Pullen has come under fire for REFUSING to be labelled a "tipster".

I won't reprint the offending emails here, but as Nick says they're usually something along these lines...

"You are a tipster. Against the Crowd is a tipping service. You put up horses for betting purposes. If that's not a tipping service, then I don't know what is..."

Nick's response?

"I am not a tipster and Against the Crowd is not a tipping service..."

And he outlines THREE very important reasons why he's right, which I'll share with you in a moment.

(I'll also give you the chance to trial Nick's modern betting service, Against the Crowd, which embodies the NEW ERA of sports betting that has just begun...)

First, I want to get something straight...

I stand behind Nick 100%.

In fact, we here at Oxfordshire Press DO NOT hire ANY so-called "tipsters".

And I'll even go one step further and declare...

The END of tipsters altogether!

They're a dying breed, going the way of the dodo...

And any punter who clings onto the dream of some mysterious, flawless tipster who can muster a 100% strike rate on £5 stakes and solve all their life problems is going to see their betting account go the way of the dodo too!

So, in a world without tipsters, what's the alternative?

Simple...

Against the Crowd: A Modern betting service WITHOUT a "tipster" in sight

Look, Nick isn't saying he doesn't share his bets for the big handicap races he's been outclassing the bookies on for the last 12 years.

He's not scared to put his money where his mouth is and his 107.3+ point 2018 and 77.80+ point 2019 (so far) track record speak as a testament to that.

But the simple fact is that his bet recommendations make up a tiny part of the value that Against the Crowd offers.

There is SO MUCH MORE to his service!

"What I like best about you is that you're not a tipster its proven facts."
- D Samways

"You're not a tipster, you just provide good insight to races and punters can then make their own minds up on selections."
- Matt

As Nick puts it it's all down to the "80/20 split" he employs...

"The picks are just a PART of the Against the Crowd service - and a small part of the service at that...

Ahead of Friday morning there will have been three or four issues of Against the Crowd earlier in the week...

Unless there is some midweek festival to focus on, none of those columns would have been focused on producing picks or providing bets...

Those columns add up to 80% of the Against the Crowd service over the course of a year...

And that larger part of the Against the Crowd service is focused almost entirely on analysis...

...On sifting through information... on extrapolating facts from data and stats... on generating insights... on studying races and horses and trainers and jockeys... on making observations and arriving at conclusions that I hope will be of some practical use to serious handicap punters...

The hope and intention with those columns would be that over time they serve to educate, build a knowledge base and help readers become more effective players in handicap markets...

Those columns are designed to help readers develop an informed view of the top-level handicap scene on the flat and over jumps - an informed view being a genuine and distinct edge in a marketplace dominated by pin-stickers, pundit-followers, fav-backers and guessers..."

So, you see why Nick sees himself as a racing analyst that offers recommendations as part of his service, rather than a "tipster" who throws in a bit of analysis here and there.

And hopefully you can see how Against the Crowd offers a hell of a lot more value than all the garbage horse racing tipping services out there.

As Nick says: "We do what other services are not prepared to do. We do the work - in the hope that our readers benefit. We go heavy where the others travel light - on analysis and on genuine knowledge-building..."

Nick gives you the tools, knowledge and guidance to become a successful bettor in your own right. And, when you have developed those skills, NO ONE can take them away from you - not even Nick!

I hope you can see how passionate I am about this new era of sports betting services where we prioritise racing analysis over "tipping" (although we will still share bet recommendations with you).

And that's why I've arranged a special introductory offer for you today, so you can trial Nick's Against the Crowd for the next 90 days completely RISK-FREE...

Click here to start your 90-day RISK-FREE trial of Against the Crowd NOW!

But I must warn you this is NOT for everyone...

WARNING: Dreamers need NOT apply

I'll be straight with you...

If you're what Nick calls a "dreamer" then Against the Crowd is likely NOT for you.

How do you know if you're a dreamer?

Simple - if you believe these three things...

1. Dreamers believe they can win over the long-term WITHOUT knowing anything about horse racing

As Nick puts it...

"The dreamer has absolutely no real interest in horse racing. The sport makes no sense to him whatsoever. It never did. It never will...

You can point out a horse to the dreamer and he won't be able to tell you with any sense of certainty which end is which...

Despite this, the dreamer has somehow managed to convince himself that there is a man out there in the world who can change his life and financial prospects by showing him which horses to bet..."

2. Dreamers believe they can make enough money to retire next month betting with just £5 stakes

As Nick says...

"And the dreamer doesn't go into this thing as a pastime that might produce a handy four-figure profit over a 12-month period - increasing the amount of walking-about money he has on the hip...

No. The dreamer tends to dream big... real big. Bigger than your wildest dreams...

He goes into this thing looking to retire (next month), buy houses (several), sports cars (several more), superyacht, an island in the sun, a Premiership football club, an airline company, a date (maybe more!) with Jennifer Lawrence...

And he kind of expects to be able to do all this betting the horses you put up at £5 or £10 per point - £20 max..."

3. Dreamers chase a mythical 100% strike rate whilst completely IGNORING the real winning metric: price

As Nick puts it...

"To the dreamer it's all about backing winners. After all, how can you make any money if you're not backing winners?

We all know that he is neglecting to consider price. He is so fixated with the idea of backing as many winners as possible, he completely overlooks the price at which he is backing them...

If the winners keep coming, he might soldier on with it - under the illusion he is winning...

It is only over time that he will come to realize with depressing finality that the prices he is taking on his bets make it impossible to get in front over the long term..."

That's what a dreamer is.

And, as Nick says, "The dreamer is NOT cut out for a service like Against the Crowd."

Here's what every long-term Against the Crowd member understands...

"Here at ATC, we are not primarily about tipping. And on the occasions we do put horses up (at the weekend or at the big midweek festivals) we don't even pretend to look for winners...

Instead, we look to find the right horse at the wrong price - one that can get competitive despite being overlooked; one that the market is misreading or mis-interpreting...

And we figure that if we do that job well enough over the long-term then the winners will take care of themselves. So too the profit we hope to extract from our participation in the game...

But the dreamer never can quite tune into that idea..."

So, let's see if you're a dreamer, or a fit for Against the Crowd...

Do you accept that you must at least have an interest in horse racing to profit over the long term?

Do you accept that you can't make enough money to retire next month betting with £5 stakes? And that a tidy four-figure profit at the end of the year is nothing to sneeze at?

Do you accept that NOBODY can produce a 100% strike rate and, if you get the price right, it's not even necessary to come out on top over the long term?

If you answered YES to the above questions, I have great news for you...

You're NOT a dreamer and you're ready to start your 90-day RISK-FREE trial of Against the Crowd today...

Let's have a look at exactly how Nick’s racing analysis can benefit your betting...

How Nick's "80/20 split" could have pocketed you £200 WHILE educating you on the sport

Here's a specific example from the beginning of the year...

If you'd have been a member of Nick's Against the Crowd service on Tuesday 8th January this year, you'd have received an email titled: "Spadework - the Classic Handicap Chase..."

"Spadework" is Nick's phrase for doing the digging and due diligence required to find an edge over the bookies and the punters you're betting against.

And his spadework emails arrive in members' inboxes four out of the five days a week the service runs, making up 80% of the content, while the remaining 20% are specific recommendations.

That Tuesday's spadework email was doing the groundwork for the Classic Handicap Chase at Warwick on the Saturday.

Nick flagged up the advantage of French-bred horses...

"The younger French-bred horses have a decent record in this race. And whilst what has happened before is no guarantee of what is going to happen in the future, it is something to be aware of…

The last 21 French-bred horses to go to post aged 9 or younger produced 3 wins and 3 places... That's a stat that very much supports the claims of Calett Mad, Ibis Du Rheu, Allysson Monterg and Ange Des Malberaux - all of whom still retain entries as of this morning...

All that said it is worth noting that there has only been a single actual winner of the race under the age of 8 since the 2005 renewal. A little experience in combination with some physical maturity is the preferred option..."

He pointed out the edge recent form could give...

"Solid recent form has been a relatively significant component in the profile of previous winners coming into the race...

Nine of the last 12 winners had finished in the first 3 on their last completed start. Another - 2017 winner, One For Arthur - had finished 5th in a 22-runner Becher Chase...

All the previous 12 winners had posted Racing Post ratings of 132 or bigger in one or both of their last two completed starts...

Look for the last run on a track to have been produced at some point in the last six weeks. None of the last 12 winners had been absent from the track for longer than that..."

And added these insights to boot...

"Serial handicap chase winners don't have the best record. If it comes down to a choice between a horse that has already shown plenty of his hand to the handicapper and one that hasn't, go with the latter. Ten of the last 12 Classic winners had won no more than a single handicap over fences...

Ten of the last 12 winners had already won over a trip of at least 3-miles...

Paul Nicholls has won three of the last 13 renewals of the race - from 11 runners. That's an excellent record...

Alan King has been an effective player in this race with his last 12 runners producing 2 wins and 3 places - but he has nothing entered this time around..."

Now, there's a lot of valuable info to chew over there - and remember, these are only snippets of the full analysis, which also contained a breakdown of the track record for the best performing jockeys for this event!

As you can see, Nick provided his members with his FULL analysis and research for the Saturday's event, so they could understand how he got to his recommendations that would arrive in their inboxes on Friday... not just copy them blindly.

And, boy, did that Friday recommendation pay off!

Here's the recommendation members received in their Friday email (along with a full breakdown of why Nick picked Impulsive Star)...

To recap on where my contrarian money will be going tomorrow afternoon...

In the Classic Handicap Chase (3.00 @ Warwick).

  • Nick's Contrarian Picks - IMPULSIVE STAR (10s @ William Hill & generally)

That is my take on where the value lies - but you will no doubt have your own ideas and that's exactly as it should be.

And the result on Saturday?

Impulsive Star flew home for a sweet 10/1 win!

To £20 stakes that's a tidy £200 profit.

But, more importantly, thanks to Nick's analysis, you would have understood why the horse won... giving you the knowledge to replicate more wins like that yourself!

Now, this is just one example of how Nick's analysis not only educates but also produces real profits. And in a moment I'm going to show you two more examples - including a 20/1 winner!

First, I want to give you a better idea of Nick's approach to betting and why it’s so effective...

Introducing the CONTRARIAN niche Nick's members win big on

Nick worked in the betting industry when he was younger. But he never really liked being part of the system. So, when he got out, he started writing and distributing a daily racing advisory.

It was a privately circulated email to friends and ex-colleagues. People began forwarding it to their friends and his reputation grew.

That's when I got in touch with him.

I loved the fact that he was different, outspoken and not greedy to sell his advice at the highest price. He just wanted to get it right and offer value. He knew his own mind.

So, in the summer of 2007 I started publishing Nick's advice and I have been his only publisher ever since.

His advice has evolved into Against the Crowd. The title says it all...

Nick is what you'd call a contrarian. Someone who "opposes or rejects popular opinion".

For instance, his favourite races are those big-field valuable handicaps...

Most punters and tipsters run a mile from that type of bet. Handicaps are considered something of a lottery. Big fields of well-matched horses, all with similar ability, belting round a track present an impenetrable puzzle for most punters.

Many will tell you that the outcome is down to luck. You may as well burn your money before the race begins.

This is why big handicaps are seen by many as 'benefit races' - races run purely for the benefit of the bookmaker...

But Nick is not like most punters. And, ultimately, Nick deliberately goes against the crowd because in the long run, it pays to do so...

Look at the prices of his winners since 2018...

- Coral Cup, Cheltenham - BLEU BERRY @ 33/1

- Topham Chase, Aintree - ULTRAGOLD @ 20/1

- Sandringham Stakes, Royal Ascot - AGROTERA @ 14/1

- Bunbury Cup, Newmarket - BURNT SUGAR @ 25/1

- Skybet Handicap, York Ebor - TITUS @ 20/1

- Scottish Sprint Cup Handicap, Musselburgh - SAAHEQ @ 14/1

- Clipper Logistics Handicap, York Ebor - WHAT'S THE STORY @ 16/1

- Cesarewitch Stakes, Newmarket – STRATUM @ 20/1

- Matchbook Betting Exchange Handicap Chase, Cheltenham - THE CONDITIONAL @ 50/1

As you can see, going against the crowd can be very profitable...

And today you have the chance to trial Against the Crowd for 90 days RISK-FREE, so you can reap the rewards from big-price handicap horses thanks to Nick's analysis...

Click here to start your 90-day RISK-FREE trial of Against the Crowd NOW!

I mean, the alternative of betting on favourites is NOT pretty...

How ignoring Nick's analysis could COST you £9,834

And it's not just our opinion - the numbers back this up, too...

  • If you'd backed every outright favourite in class 1 races run over hurdles and fences since the start of 2008 season you'd have lost money across the entire 12-year period

  • In total you'd have placed 1,875 bets. Yes, you would have found 657 winners at an impressive strike rate of 35.%. But you'd have lost money

  • You'd have lost 180.7 betting points to be exact - or £3,614 to level stakes of £20*

It is a similar story betting favourites in Pattern races run on the flat...

Backing every outright favourite in British, Irish and French Group races run since the start of 2008 would have seen you back 1,320 winners from 3,596 bets. Once again, that's an attractive enough winning strike rate of 36.7%.**

But at short prices a big strike rate does not translate to betting profit. Had you backed all those Group race favourites to win their respective races at level stakes you'd now be sitting on an overall betting loss of 310 points.

Betting to level stakes of £20 that loss totals £6,220!

Crazy right?

And that's because most people don't understand this simple fact...

Strike Rate is NOT the answer to consistent profits (here's the real secret...)

Favourites in British, Irish and French Group races have not delivered a level stakes betting profit in any of the last 12 years.

Betting favourites in big races on the flat or over the jumps DOES NOT pay. You back plenty of winners. You get to look good heading off to the pay-out window at the bookies 35% of the time. But where it really matters - on the bottom-line - a fav-backing strategy loses money hand-over-fist year on year.

Getting in front is not just about backing winners. It's about getting the right kinds of winners.

Finding winners is easy. Just back the favourite and you'll have a strike rate between 30% and 40%. Making it pay is the hard part.

To get ahead over the long term you need to be backing sufficient winners at sufficiently good prices...

That's where Nick's Against the Crowd service is so good.

You'll discover that 20/1, 40/1 and 100/1 shots really do win.

In fact, here are two more examples of how Nick's expert analysis can give you (a very profitable) edge...

Nick banks his members £200 thanks to these 3 key insights

On Thursday 15th November, 2018, Nick sent members of Against the Crowd his analysis for the BetVictor Gold Cup...

Amongst his in-depth research, he highlighted these three key points...

"The absolute strongest stat in this race - across the last 16 editions at least - has been the one related to previous track experience..."

"The historic record also suggests you should be looking for a horse that has already won at this in-between trip over fences..."

"I would also make the point that the record suggests favouring up-and-coming chasers over more-exposed veterans is a good policy in this contest..."

Now, along with the rest of Nick's research and analysis in this email, any punter with their head screwed on could have put these insights into action to gain a serious edge over the bookies.

But, of course, Nick went one step further...

Putting his money where his mouth is, he offered this recommendation to his members in the next day's email...

To recap on where my contrarian money will be going tomorrow afternoon...

In the BetVictor Gold Cup (2.25 @ Cheltenham).

  • Nick's Contrarian Picks - BARON ALCO (11s generally) & WEST APPROACH (16s generally)

That is my take on where the value lies - but you will no doubt have your own ideas and that's exactly as it should be.

And the result on the Saturday event?

A tidy 11/1 winner!

Backing both picks at £20 stakes, produced an overall profit of £200.

But, again... even better than the money is the fact that you would have understood why Nick made that recommendation. His research and analysis could even have led you to MORE profits of your own making on the day...

You know what they say: Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, give a man a fishing rod and he'll eat for life...

Well, forget about a fishing rod... Nick is handing you a whole modern fishing fleet kitted out with all the latest tech!

Take this for example...

How Nick's analysis produced a £560 "double-bagger"

On Friday 11 October this year, something truly special happened...

Nick recommended these two contrarian bets...

To recap on where my idea of the value lies tomorrow afternoon...

In the Cesarewitch Stakes (4.10 @ Newmarket).

  • Nick's Contrarian Picks - MR EVEREST (16s generally) & STRATUM (20s generally)

That is my take on where the value lies - but you will no doubt have your own ideas and that's exactly as it should be.

Of course, these two bets weren't plucked out of thin air.

For the previous week Nick had been analysing the weekend's handicap races, showering his members with valuable insights like this...

"But what I can tell you is that six of the last 13 Cesarewitch winners had won over hurdles and six of the winners since the turn of the century had been involved at that year's Cheltenham Festival..."

And this...

"Tony Martin has proven to be a particularly good placer of a horse in this race...

We know he likes to land the big prestige handicaps and he has a particularly solid record in this one - his last 12 runners in the race produced a win and 3 placed finishes..."

AND this...

"Perhaps the best stat to focus on as an initial field-splitter is this: 16 of the last 17 winners of the race - be they flat horses, jumps horses or dual-code horses - had already won a race of some description over a trip of 2 miles or beyond...

In the Cesarewitch the field is big, the trip is long and it always turns into a genuine test. The stats suggest you need to be with a horse or horses who have proven they have the tank-capacity to get home...

The stats also suggest it is advisable to put a line through horses drawn high..."

Then come race day on Saturday, it was time to see if Nick's analysis could turn into cold hard cash for the members that chose to follow his recommendations...

Did it?

YES!

Both the 20/1 winner (STRATUM) and a 16/1 (MR EVEREST) Each Way payout...

For a combined profit of £560 (to £20 Each Way stakes)!

And just think... if you'd taken Nick's analysis seriously and used it to hunt down your own winners on the other races that weekend... you could have pocketed EVEN MORE profit!

It's no wonder Nick's members are raving fans of his...

"If I could follow just one service for the rest of my life it would be yours..."

Ian R is a long-standing member of Nick's Against the Crowd service.

And here's the high (but well deserved) praise he lavished on Nick recently...

"Hi Nick, Never emailed before but always intended to and inspired by another one of your emails where it feels like you've been getting some stick I thought I'd throw my hat in the ring! I've been following you possibly since 2006 and certainly known who you were since you landed me a tasty 100-1 winner in the national in Auroras encore. [...] Thanks to you I have been banned by half the online bookies! So firstly thanks for the tips and the free beers it has bought me along the way Secondly thanks for the emails, I always find them informative and entertaining, giving me fresh insight into the sport, markets and industry in nice bite size chunks. If I could follow just one service for the rest of my life it would be yours Keep up the good work."

Some lovely words, and truly rewarding for Nick.

But Ian isn't the only Against the Crowd member raving about Nick...

Take a look...

"If your stats throw up my fancies I play and if your stats show no trends I leave the race alone. The time saved on endless studying..."
- Nigel Harris

"I haven't got a lot of time on my hands due to work so I usually wait for your Fri Email and make my decision from your shortlist. The beauty is rather than a tipping service the selection is down to the subscribers."
- Martin Travers

"After your report on how to determine 'real going' I picked a 10/1 winner solely by the insight in that article. It was a fantastic feeling and, for that, I thank you."

Still on the fence, then let me help you get over it...

Here's what you'll get with Against the Crowd

As soon as you join you'll get a daily email from Nick, Monday to Friday, all-year-round – delivering his unique insights, observations, analysis and betting angles.

Every Friday, you'll get his Contrarian Picks for the weekend racing - including his reasons for backing each horse and why he believes the price is value.

Nick doesn't stick to rules or set patterns. He delivers what he thinks will make money that day.

However, you can rely on these consistent features week after week...

The Watch List

The Watch List is a list of horses that have caught Nick's eye in recent races or for specific reasons. Horses he believes are ready to win.

You'll find it in the members-only area of our website, waiting for you right now.

The Watch List is a component feature of the Against the Crowd day to day service. Nick makes a habit of studying big races in forensic detail - looking beyond the winner and the placed horses. His objective is to pinpoint performances that suggests a horse is nearing the point where it is going to win.

Once he gives you the lowdown, those horses get added to our onsite Watch List - which you can check and monitor at leisure. Nick keeps a keen eye on those horses and the races they are entered in - in the hope of betting them at a big price when the time is right.

Nick's statistical research

Stats and the historic record form another core component of the Against the Crowd service. Nick maintains datasets going back 20 years and frequently uses these to highlight hidden trends, patterns and themes within the overall record.

As an ongoing part of our five-days-per week coverage he alerts you to potentially profitable betting angles as and when they present themselves.

The intelligence and insights that Nick's stats-based research routinely uncovers will give you the edge...

Specialisation

Many racing services will pepper your inbox and mobile phone with 'must-bet' tips, backing mountains of (usually short-price) horses and favourites. That's not the Against the Crowd way.

Nick likes to specialise, focussing on one or two races a week. Mostly the biggest betting heats at the big meetings - the big handicaps and the Grade/Group races where the race shape lends itself to finding value.

And when the big Festivals like Cheltenham are on, the service goes 'daily'.

These are the territories where we go to work. If you are looking for dozens of races/ bets/ horses to back every month, then Against the Crowd isn't for you. Nick's chooses his targets carefully and takes aim with precision...

But come and see for yourself - RISK-FREE. If you're not happy for any reason within your three-month trial, you get your membership fee returned in full.

Now, you're probably wondering...

"How much is this going to cost me?"

Against the Crowd is not like most racing services out there. We don't charge an arm and a leg. And we don't promise you the earth.

Unlike the many 'tipsters' that promise you untold riches 24/7, Nick is realistic.

He won't make you a millionaire. He won’t put a Ferrari on your drive. And he won't give you winners every single weekend.

But long term, Nick's Contrarian Picks are PROVEN to make money. Since the start of 2016 when Against the Crowd was launched, from £20 Each Way stakes, we're in profit to the tune of £5,249.20 (as of November 2019).

So, you're probably thinking Nick's service costs a bomb...

I mean, I've seen some racing services charging £50 a week, and others asking for hundreds of pounds a month. Many don't even tell you WHY they're backing a horse. Just a name - that's all you get. No evidence, no proof, no analysis or knowledge.

But at Oxfordshire Press we have a reputation for providing honest, value for money services. With Against the Crowd you get Nick's analysis, opinion and recommendations all with support should you need it.

And you don't need to make high profits all the time to cover the cost.

So, all we're asking is for £20 per month, that's just £4.62 a week. That works out as an annual membership of only £240.

But I want to save you even more money...

Get a 50% discount today

Join today and you can get an entire year's membership for just £117. That's just £2.25 a week. Cheaper than a cup of High Street coffee or a pint of beer.

And not only will you enjoy this 50% discount this year - it's a 'lifetime' offer. As long as you remain a member you will never be asked to pay a penny more than £117 a year.

Or if you prefer, choose the quarterly option which works out at £3.00 per week for full membership, including all of Nick's recommendations and advice.

Sound good? Then don't hang about...

As a member you'll get to enjoy...

Proven long term profits

Nick has been making money for members for well over 10 years. This year alone his picks are up over 77.80 points.

These impressive profits come from landing bets like the ones I've mentioned above - backing horses priced at 16/1, 20/1 and even 50/1. At huge odds like those, you don't need to get a winner every week, or even every month. And Nick doesn't.

This is a long term service. That's why we offer you a discounted 12-month membership price. So, you can really put Nick's approach to the test, see it in action... and most importantly, reap the financial rewards.

The next big payout could come this Saturday. Or it could come six weeks from now. But this much I can say: you need to make sure you're onboard by booking your place today, so that YOU can profit when Nick names the next big winner...

"I like the principle of the service to search out value bets and to win in the long run. It is hard, sometimes, to stick to this principle of searching for value, especially after a few losers but knowing this is the right approach and that the service is dedicated to that certainly is a great help."
- William

PLUS....

Put Against the Crowd to the test for 90 days RISK-FREE

Our money-back guarantee covers you for your first three months. At any time in your first three months, for whatever reason, you can cancel and we will refund any membership fees you have paid us in full.
